Bible Study:

at the moment my husband and I are reading through Philippians, in my personal bible time I try to dig into some deeper understanding of which ever text we are going to be on next… you know to get a heads up on my theologian husband.

Memory Verse:

I am so unfaithful in this area and really need to make a better commitment to this vital spiritual discipline. As a family we are working on Luke 9:23 “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” and I am going to be memorizing and meditating on Philippians1:21-24 “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.”

Husband Encouragement:

Here I am really going to be working on “in humility counting him more significant than myself and looking not only to my own interests (which is rather easy), but also to the interest of my hard working God fearing husband” (Phil. 2:3-4)

Train Them Up:

Last night my husband and I sat down and made a list of for each child of the things that we see they struggle with, that is hindering them in their walk with Christ and knowing Him and surrending to Him as the Lord of their lives. Yes they are all under 9 years of age, we believe seriously that it is from birth that we begin training our children in their sanctification and love of God. We will be intentionally be working with each precious child joyfully (because we have a tendency to do it with out it I added it as a reminder) through prayer, discipline, love, teaching and training. We will begin each morning in prayer over our list, over each child and over ourselves to be diligent, consistent and loving in our parenting.

Personal Goals:

To find daily my JOY not in things, not in how I feel, not in my self image, not in perfection, not in well behaved children, a happy husband or even as silly as it may seem in the weather but only ever in God through Christ.

Also I seek to be more consistent in praying alone and with my family.

New Habit of the Month:

Getting dessed each morning before I do anything, even get my coffee! I have always been a pj girl.

I can’t believe it has been a month since I have posted last and 5 weeks since our little Josai was born. Time has a very bad habit of flying by, slipping through these fingers of mine. I am still learning to savor each moment I am blessed with in this earthly journey for one day it will vanish. It is a vapor in light of eternity.

As you can imagine life has been blessedly busy around here, lot’s of adjustments to lots of changes. One week before our little blessing was born my beloved quit his job in a conviction to be more faithful in his calling as husband, father and house church pastor. That has been a huge change in our home, a huge blessed change in many ways but still a change that has to be adapted to. Our little “handsome” as I call him arrived destroying all of our normality as a family of 5 for 3 years, we are now adjusting to being a family of 6 and I am head deep in school preperations for up in coming homeschool year… just 2 weeks away. Life is awesome and my heart is so full of peace amidst the chaos of change around me.

The photo above is of Josai’s favorite sleeping spot during the day with his new sleeping buddy “Spicey Girl”…  right in the middle of all of the action. I can’t believe he hasn’t been jumped on yet! We have had many close calls though 😉

Well, I am in the middle of a short window of time where all of my kids are resting… I am off to make the best use of my time! Just wanted to make a little update.
