UPDATE: I AM CLOSING THE COMMENTS (MENTALLY). I WILL POST THE WINNER AROUND 3:00PM.
How can you, she is everywhere in the blogsphere. I just visited Shannon and am utterly amazed at the plethera of bloggers who are giving, yes giving things away! Can you believe that as of right now there are 476! Wow. If you haven’t been over there… GO, what are you waiting for!
I have been debating on whether to participate or not. Could I find something that someone would want? I began searching. What did I find? Several things but then I remembered that my husband’s lap top is sick and my computer is old and unable to hold pictures. So I would have to try to describe the things that I found. So I decided to scratch that idea and instead try to come up with something else. A book. I can find a picture online of it. I knew imediately which book I wanted to give away but the bookstore I went to didn’t have it ( on sale, sorry) but they did have my second choice. I read this book a few months ago and enjoyed the authors writing style and perspective on parenting. It is called Sacred Parenting.
From the back cover:
Sacred Parenting is unlike any other parenting book you have ever read. This is not a “how-to” book that teaches you ways to discipline your kids or help them achieve their full potential. Instead of discussing how parents can change their kids, Sacred Parenting turns the tables and demonstrates how God uses our kids to change us.
God taught me many things through this book. I pray that whoever wins it will gain inspiration, insight and encouragement in their personal journey of being one of God’s gardeners and one of His children.
Here is how to win: leave me a comment saying you want it and then share one of your favorite parenting books, you do not have to explain why. (US & Canada :0( only, I wish I could ship internationally ) On Friday Superman will draw a name from T-Rex’s little box. I do not have a specific time, probably after 3:00pm. Good Luck!!
*NO MORE ENTRIES FOR THIS CONTEST*
I’d love to be entered – I’ve read his “Sacred Marriage” book and very much liked it.
One of my favorite parenting books is “Kids are Worth It!” by Barbara Coloroso (sp?). I don’t agree with absolutely all of it, but I like how she recognizes that children are real people, and that wrong actions ought to be followed up with (if possible) realistic consequences. (i.e., you spill the milk, you clean it up.)
Great giveaway!
peace of Christ to you,
Jessica Snell
Can you believe the craziness?!? I’m not even halfway through the list. A book I’m really enjoying, but haven’t finished, is A Mother’s Heart by Jean Fleming. I’m also only partway through Shepherding A Child’s Heart. It’s weird to read a book that goes hand in hand with the way we have raised our kids for the last 10 years – does that mean we’re doing something right? :o)
I liked Barbara Curtis’ Mommy Manual.
I have (and want to read) Shepherding a Child’s Heart.
I hope I win your book.
Hmmm…I am a new parent so I don’t have a favorite parenting book yet…other than the Bible! 😉 But this sounds like a good book!!
Dr Sear’s “The Baby Book” got me through the first few years…
Thanks for entering me in your drawing!

Favorite parenting book … I honestly haven’t read any that have moved me. In fact I have never finished a parenting book before that I can remember, and if I have forgotten one – well, not being able to remember it isn’t the best sign ever. Although, I will say I have been recommended Parenting with Love and Logic very often and still have yet to pick it up ….
Thanks for doing this though =) Maybe I can read my first ever want to recommend to the world parenting book! LOL!
Please enter me in your drawing.
Actually Stormie’s power of a praying parent really blessed my home. I gave it to someone when I was a new believer and it’s gone…forever. Oh well. This book sounds really awesome! I hope I win!!

I loved “The Most Important Place on Earth: What a Christian Home Looks Like and How to Build One” by Robert Wolgemuth.
I am in the middle of Grace Based Parenting, and am really getting a lot out of it. I appreciate Gary Thomas’ honest writing, and loved his book Sacred Marriage. : )

I’m not USA or Canada.
My favorite parenting book is not about parenting but about learning disabilities.
I don’t even know the writer, it’s a collective.
But I have helped teachers to understand the problems some of my children have to live with.
Wow, I have so many I like. I loved Lisa Whelchel’s Creative Correction, Shepherding a Child’s Heart is another. There are many. Oh Sacred Parenting sounds good to. If I don’t win, I may go buy it!

Hi. I don’t own too many parenting books. I use the 123 Magic book though and feel it works pretty well for discipline. Always interested in other viewpoints.
I’ve been reading Building Moral Intelligence by Michele Borba. Great book about teaching your child virtues, imagine that. I also like Raising You Spirited Child by Mary Sheedy Kurcinka, as well as How to Talk So Your Kids Will Listen and Listen So Your Kids Will Talk & Siblings Without Rivalry by Adele Faber & Elaine Mazlish.
Anyway I’d love to read this book too

I hate to say it but I haven’t read a parenting book and my son is 8. I would love to read this one though.
I would love this book. I haven’t found a parenting book that I love yet. Maybe this will be the one!
I am a brand new adoptive mom to a 9 year old boy (2 months today!) We get lots of comments about how lucky he is to have us. We are the lucky ones. Our 10 year journey to become parents has provided lots of lessons on the value of children and how many things we can learn from parenting. This book seems to reflect some of our philosophies, and I’d love to be able to read it.
My favorite parenting book is Boundaries for Kids by Cloud & Townsend.
I love “How to be a Modern-day Knight” by Dobson. We don’t have kids yet, but I’d love to win your book!
sounds wonderful,I like Bringing Up Boys by Dobson
Please enter me – and I like all of Dr. Dobson’s books.
I am currently reading Learning All the Time by John Holt. It is a more of an education book than it is a parenting book — but as parents (and especially homeschoolers), education IS parenting.
