I am 71% Addicted to Coffee

Mingle2 – Free Online Dating

Okay… maybe just a little. 71% that isn’t bad… what is your score? I am not a black coffee drinker either but more of a cream, sugar and whipped cream with a little coffee on the side gal :0) No it isn’t that bad but honestly I do like a little coffee with my cream and sugar! My husband use to say that what I drank wasn’t coffee but he he ask him now how he drinks his coffee. That is right, I converted him over to the cream and sugar side (I couldn’t say dark side). I love a good frothy sweet and creamy cup of java, what can I say.

Well this morning I just couldn’t rise and shine at 4:00am. Or maybe I just didn’t want to. I set my phone alarm for 6:25 only to turn it off and get up after my other sweet alarm went off at 7:15, Butterfly. Not long after Superman and T-Rex joined us and we began the day together. This morning is one of those where I am trying really hard to have an attitude of thankfulness and a joyful spirit. Today I am fighting to walk in love, to feel joy, to see my calling as holy and today I am reminded of His grace, His grace that gets me through the days, that I have been lavished in and bathe in daily and my heart begins to turn slowly, directing my steps towards His love, my heart towards His joy and my eyes are unveiled to His holiness. It is 9:17 and I pray that in today I will constantly be reminded of His grace and that I will feel His presence with me as I live and breath in the trials that are waiting for me through out my day, may I meet them with patience and with boldness ready to overcome them. May I be slow to anger towards my children’s sinful behaviors and may only the teaching of kindness be on my lips.

Today, I am thankful for screaming boys and sleeping babies and for the grace that enables me to love them and train them. Enjoy the day!

Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t only give your care, but give your heart as well.

My mind is in overload as I reserve this week for total preperation of the coming school year which will begin for us on Aug. 6. I can not wait to get started! I have so many ideas spinning around in my head and wonderful expectations for this new year. I am going to be honest, homeschooling is not easy and I have struggled emensly with my Superman over the years and he is only 6! almost 7. I know now that we jumped in the water a little to early.

I was actually planning on starting today but decided to give us all a week to prepare our minds for the change. I have my Home Management binder sitting on the floor to re-do this morning. It is such a mess. I am working on this week adjusting my schedules and routines to Butterfly’s new sleep and eating routine, creating Superman a sort of behavior point system, I am not sure how this is going to work or even if it is but we are going to try it. Re-arranging their chore charts and making a new system for it. Deciding on the amount of tv consumption that we will devour each day and the amount of books that we will consume. Also, I still have science curriculi to decide on and copybooks, latin and a few other supplies to purchase before we can get started. (by the way if you want to “hear” more about our homeschool journey I have a homeschool blog that you can visit: Growing Minds of Wisdom)

I have the desire to soak this year in prayer and to be more of an encouraging teacher full of energy and enthusiasm for their growing minds. I want them to be inspired and to not only enjoy the wonderful journey of learning but also to yearn for more knowledge and to begin to understand how everything revolves around Christ even math.  I am really going to work on exciting their minds  to the joy of reading and being read to. I have to force my T-Rex to read with me and bribe Superman to read it hurts my passion for the experience of getting lost in a good book and understanding and getting to know God closer through His book. I enjoy growing and I want my children to enjoy growing to even when it is painful and yes sometimes boring, Superman’s favorite word at the moment. Boring everything is boring except video games, select movies and wrestling with daddy.

There is so much more in this head of mine that is churning… maybe I will share more later. Right now I should go work on my binder before all of my Littles awaken into the gift of another day. Enjoy!

UPDATE: I AM CLOSING THE COMMENTS (MENTALLY). I WILL POST THE WINNER AROUND 3:00PM.

How can you, she is everywhere in the blogsphere. I just visited Shannon and am utterly amazed at the plethera of bloggers who are giving, yes giving things away! Can you believe that as of right now there are 476! Wow. If you haven’t been over there… GO, what are you waiting for!

I have been debating on whether to participate or not. Could I find something that someone would want? I began searching. What did I find? Several things but then I remembered that my husband’s lap top is sick and my computer is old and unable to hold pictures. So I would have to try to describe the things that I found. So I decided to scratch that idea and instead try to come up with something else. A book. I can find a picture online of it. I knew imediately which book I wanted to give away but the bookstore I went to didn’t have it ( on sale, sorry) but they did have my second choice. I read this book a few months ago and enjoyed the authors writing style and perspective on parenting. It is called Sacred Parenting.

From the back cover:

Sacred Parenting is unlike any other parenting book you have ever read. This is not a “how-to” book that teaches you ways to discipline your kids or help them achieve their full potential. Instead of discussing how parents can change their kids, Sacred Parenting turns the tables and demonstrates how God uses our kids to change us.

God taught me many things through this book. I pray that whoever wins it will gain inspiration, insight and encouragement in their personal journey of being one of God’s gardeners and one of His children.

Here is how to win: leave me a comment saying you want it and then share one of your favorite parenting books, you do not have to explain why. (US & Canada :0( only, I wish I could ship internationally ) On Friday Superman will draw a name from T-Rex’s little box. I do not have a specific time, probably after 3:00pm. Good Luck!!

*NO MORE ENTRIES FOR THIS CONTEST*
